Behind the Scenes: Farm Space Reviews the Nayela Okapi at NAMPO Cape
At NAMPO Cape (Nampo Kaap) in Bredasdorp, the agricultural and outdoor community gathers to see the absolute best in South African innovation. This year, the team from Farm Space stopped by the Nayela showcase to take an in-depth look at our flagship model: the Nayela Okapi.
Farm Space is renowned for reviewing the toughest, most reliable equipment built for South African conditions. When they stepped inside the Okapi, they wanted to see if our “rugged luxury” claims held up to the ultimate test.

Key Highlights from the Farm Space Showcase
During the interview, the Farm Space team highlighted several key features that set the Nayela Okapi apart from traditional off-road caravans:
1. Built on Agricultural-Grade Strength
Because Nayela is engineered and manufactured by Van Zyl Staalwerke (VZS Group)—pioneers in heavy-duty agricultural steel manufacturing—the Okapi is built on a foundation of pure strength. The chassis is designed to withstand the absolute worst corrugations and gravel roads South Africa has to offer, without ever compromising on stability.
2. The Seamless Fiberglass Mono-Hull
Traditional caravans are built with flat panels joined by seams, which are highly susceptible to water leaks and dust entry over time. The Okapi features a seamless, automotive-grade fiberglass mono-hull bodyshell. This curved design is not only incredibly aerodynamic (saving you fuel on long hauls) but also completely impervious to water leaks.
3. Dust-Free Off-Road Travel
One of the most impressive features discussed was our Active Cabin Pressurization system. By keeping the interior cabin pressurized while towing on dry, dusty Overberg roads, the Okapi actively pushes air out, ensuring that not a single speck of dust enters your luxury living space.
